PID - Particule Impact Damper

This new patented technology reduces the adverse effects of vibration, thereby increasing product life and reliability. The PID is a mechanical component consisting of tungsten balls that move freely in the opposite direction to the PCB. This counter-movement reduces the bending of the board.

This technology operates at vibration frequencies from 100Hz to 2KHz and operates over a full temperature range without derating. It is also suitable for retrofitting and upgrading existing equipment. The PIDs can be soldered as normal components, or attached to the board using a permanent epoxy adhesive. TopLine's particle impact dampers were invented at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center.
