How to check that your Kapton is ESD?

Kapton is used to mask PCB before wave soldering, to hold thermocouples when making thermal profiles, to protect components during repairs, to electrically insulate the transformer, motor, coil, capacitor. There are a multitude of applications for a product that can be used in your factory on a daily use.
The use of a non ESD Kapton can damage electronic equipment by creating an electrostatic discharge between two objects with different electrical potentials. This discharge can damage your final product and reduce the quality of your products.
Depending on the application of the Kapton, it is therefore important to ensure that your Kapton is ESD. How to check it?
Our advice :
1) If you have a measuring device:
A. Make sure that the value on the non-adhesive side is between 10^6-10^9 Ohms
B. Make sure that the value is below 100 Volts during the course of the operation.
If you do not have a measuring device, we invite you to carry out a simple visual check by following the following advice:
2) Whether your Kapton is in roll or in dots, make sure that the inside of your Kapton is pink.
If the Kapton roll is white, your Kapton is non ESD.
3) On the roll, check if the ESD logo is present. If so, your Kapton is ESD.
By following the above points, you make sure that you protect your PCB from electrostatic discharge with your Kapton ESD.
